Team G Golf starts each June. We have a great group of golfers and dedicated coaches and Unified Partners. They currently practice in Golden Valley for practice on the driving range, pitch and putt and for some, golf course play. Options for competition include “skills”, 3 hole and 9 hole rounds. Bring your own clubs but if you don’t have any, there are a few spares.
Practices are usually held on Wednesday nights but this depends on the preference of the coach and facility availability. As with other sports, you must attend the first few practices so that the Head Coach can assess your ability and record scores. In order to compete at State games, you must golf at the Regional Competition.
Most athletes golf with a Unified Partner and compete as “doubles.” The Unified Partner could be a parent, sibling, or friend. This is a great opportunity to get friends and family members of the athletes involved in our team. The partner must be Level 1 Coach Certified through the State. See www.somn.org to register to be a Unified Partner.
Attire for golf competition is either a Team G t-shirt or the Team G polo and black pants or shorts and golf shoes. Tennis shoes are acceptable.
